Windageddon 2011

Journaling: The wind last week was devastating and extremely sad causing 20 million dollars in damage. My hometown lost hundreds of beautiful pine trees, windows were blown out, homes damaged, cars smashed, and up at Weber people actually blew away. Actually my Dad blew away too, but no one caught his on video. In his words he looked like a cartoon bouncing down a hill from the wind. This really cool thing happened today though, across Davis county neighbors helped neighbors clean up debris and hunker down for round two of the East Winds tonight. It was such a cool thing to hear about, my friend was telling me her brother from another state was so impressed with the community and how they- instead of waiting for help, got out and helped themselves. Highest wind speeds in Centerville reached 102 mph.. Category II hurricane speeds. What a crazy experience to see in Utah.

  1. Funny video. It was neat to see how the community handled the storm!
